Eden Prairie – 06/11/2015

Location: Eden Prairie, MN

Cost: $1475

Initial Radon Level: >4.0 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 0.5 pCi/L

We have found that newer homes are much easier to install radon mitigation systems.  The usually have:

  1. an unfinished portion of the basement
  2. an attached garage
  3. they have drain tile systems already installed
  4. the garage already has electrical outlets.

These four things allow for the maximum radon reduction and the quickest installs, so that you can stop worrying about radon in your home.

For this home we sealed the sump basket, routed a radon pipe from the basement, into the garage and into the garage attic.  Fire collars, which prevent the spread of fire, and a u-tube, which indicates the fan is working, were installed in the garage.  The radon fan and an electrical outlet, installed by a licensed electrician, were installed in the attic.
