We can make a radon mitigation system fit in every house and this one is no exception.  We had to make holes in multiple floors, ceilings and a cabinet to make this system fit.  This home had a drain tile system that allows the radon system to be very effective.  A new sump basket cover was installed and sealed.  A view port was added so that you can see into the basket and access the pump, if needed.  The suction pit of the radon mitigation system was connected to the drain tile.  When we make this connection we remove part of the drain tile because if we don’t the air flow is reduce and the maximum radon reduction would not be possible.

There was a cabinet in the only location that we could run the radon pipe so we created two holes and ran the pipe through.  We added a u-tube inside the cabinet so that there is an indicator that the fan is still running.  Once we were through the cabinet we routed the pipe over to a closet on the first floor.

The radon pipe goes up through the first floor closet and it makes a slight jog to miss some framing in the attic.

To finish off the system a radon fan was installed in the attic and white radon vent was used to match the other plumbing vents.  As always the electrical connection was supplied by a licensed electrician.
