Lakeville – 05/29/2015

Location: Lakeville, MN

Cost: $1575

Initial Radon Level: 5.7 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 0.3 pCi/L

This home had a very long pipe run but we were able to install a mitigation system that was successful.  The drain tile helped to reduce the radon levels.  We sealed the sump basket lid and installed a view port.  The radon pipe in the basement went up the basement wall and out into the garage.

In the garage we installed a u-tube, an indicator that the fan is still running.

Since there was a room above the garage we needed to run the radon pipe across the garage and into the attic.  A fire collar was installed on both ends of the pipe to prevent the spread of fire.

In the attic we installed a radon fan to draw the radon out of the ground and vent it outside.  The electrical connection was installed by a licensed electrician.  A black radon vent was used to match the color of the vents already installed on the roof.
