Maple Grove – 04/13/2015

Location: Maple Grove, MN

Cost: $1450

Initial Radon Level: 6.3 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 0.5 pCi/L

This home had a nice clean basement to install a radon mitigation system and drain tile to help reduce the radon levels.  We sealed the current sump basket lid and added a view port so that you can see the water level or access the pump.  The radon pipe goes up the basement wall and out into the garage.

In the garage we installed a fire collar at each end of the pipe.  These collars reduce the likelihood that a fire will spread.  In the garage attic we ran the pipe to the back roof slope and away from any openings into the house.

The radon fan was installed in the garage attic and the electrical connection was supplied by a licensed electrician.  A black radon vent pipe was used to match the other vents already on the roof.
