Minnetonka – 05/28/2015

Location: Minnetonka, MN

Cost: $1600

Initial Radon Level: 7.6 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 0.6 pCi/L

This home gave us some challenges, in that the crawlspace was very large and almost the same depth as the basement.  This is a challenge because as the soil level gets closer to the first floor the pressure to bring radon into the home is reduced.  We installed a suction point in the basement, sealed the large crawlspace with a suction point, and routed the pipe into the garage.

In the garage we installed fire collars, that reduce the spread of fire from the garage into the house.  In the attic we installed a radon fan to “suck” the radon out of the ground and vent it outside.  The electrical connection for the fan was installed by a licensed electrician.
