Plymouth – 05/07/2015

Location: Plymouth, MN

Cost: $1675

Initial Radon Level: 8.4 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 0.2 pCi/L

This radon mitigation system that we installed in Plymouth Minnesota, had a tough pipe route and lots of shelving.  There was drain tile in this home that helped us to reduce the radon level as much as possible.

We started will sealing the current sump basket lid and using that as our suction point.  The radon vent pipe went through a few shelves in the basement and over to the garage rim joist, where the pipe exited the basement into the garage.

In the garage there was more shelving and the pipe continued up into a 2nd level closet.  A fire collar was installed on both ends of the pipe, to meet the fire code. In the closet more shelving had to be modified to allow the radon vent pipe up into the attic.

In the attic the radon fan was installed and a black radon vent was used to match the other vents already on the home.  The electrical connection was provided by a licensed electrician.
