Roseville – 04/30/2015

Location: Roseville, MN

Cost: $1475

Initial Radon Level: 8.2 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 0.7 pCi/L

This radon mitigation system is very typical.  The home had a sump basket and drain tile, which are very helpful in reducing radon levels.  We installed a sealed sump basket lid with a sight hole.  The radon mitigation pipe is also installed into the sump basket.

The pipe continues out into the garage where there are fire collars installed on both ends of the pipe.  These collars stop the spread of fire.

The pipe goes up into the garage attic where the radon fan is installed.  The radon fan is always installed in an unconditioned and ventilated area, at the top of the radon mitigation system.  This is so that the concentrated radon moving through the pipe is drawn all the way up to the top of the home, where it can be safely vented outside.  The electrical connection was supplied by a licensed electrician.
