Savage – 05/12/2015

Location: Savage, MN

Cost: $1400

Initial Radon Level: 4.9 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 0.4 pCi/L

This radon mitigation system is as simple as they get.  Since the home had drain tile installed, we sealed the sump basket and used that as the way to collect the radon under the home.  A clear sight hole was added to the cover so that you can see the sump pump and water level in the basket.  A rubber coupler was installed on the mitigation pipe, in case access is ever needed.  A u-tube manometer was installed to show if the fan is running.  The radon vent pipe goes out the rim joist of the home.  A radon fan was connected on the exterior of the home and the vent pipe run up the side of the house.  The electrical connection was supplied by a licensed electrician.
