St. Louis Park – 04/01/2015

Location: St. Louis Park, MN

Cost: $1375

Initial Radon Level: 5.3 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 1.0 pCi/L

Sometimes with older homes it is hard to find a closet that a radon pipe can be installed.  In those situations we install an exterior radon mitigation system.  Exterior systems do simplify the installation process but they can be prone to freezing in the winter.  In the basement a suction pit was installed, the radon pipe goes up an exterior basement wall and a u-tube was added to the pipe.  The u-tube is a visual indicator that the radon fan is still running.

The radon fan is located on the exterior of the house.  The radon fan should always be located in a ventilated area that is not connected to the living space of the home.  The electrical connection was supplied by a licensed electrician.
