Minnetonka – 04/17/2015

Location: Minnetonka, MN

Cost: $1475

Initial Radon Level: 4.3 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 0.7 pCi/L

This home brought the challenge of having a full basement and a crawlspace.  The crawlspace was tall enough that it was not hard to work.  A new sump basket lid was installed, sealed and a view port was added.  The view port allows for access to the basket and a way to see inside.  The suction pit for the radon mitigation system was connected to the drain tile.  A u-tube was added to the pipe so that you can see if the radon fan is still running.

The crawlspace was sealed with a poly barrier.  A suction pipe was added to the crawlspace to remove the radon that accumulates under the poly barrier.

The radon fan was installed in the attic, with the electrical connection being supplied by a licensed electrician.  A black radon vent was used to match the other plumbing vents on the roof.
