Radon Mitigation System 04-22-2019

Location: Prior Lake, MN

Cost: $1650

Initial Radon Level:  >4.0 pCi/L

Post Mitigation Radon Level: 0.7 pCi/L

Houses with drain tile systems allow us to get the largest radon reduction. That is because the radon mitigation system can use the drain tile to collect the radon. This pathway goes around the whole basement make the radon mitigation system very efficient. We seal all of the sump baskets to ensure we do not take air from the basement.

To get access to run the pipe to the garage we had to create an access panel so that we could make the connection. We cover all of our panels with easy to remove covers. We also label all of our pipes to ensure any one else working on the house knows that it is a radon mitigation system pipe.

In the garage to meet code we install fire ring collars anytime we go through a firewall. This is very important to prevent the spread of fire. We also mounted the u-tube in a location that is easy to check.

A high quality fan designed for radon mitigation should always be used to increase the efficiency and longevity of the fan. The fan should always be located in an unconditioned space so no radon gas flowing through the mitigation system is able to enter the living space.

We match the color of our radon vents to match the other pipes on the roof. We make sure they are located away from windows and doors so that the concentrated radon gas is diluted before it could make its way back into the house.

We were able to complete this project on time and reduce the radon levels. If you need your home tested for radon or a radon mitigation system installed to reduce your radon levels, please don’t wait to protect yourself and your family, contact us now.
